Stone Adhesive – Durable Bonding for Stones

Concrate is a milky white latex formulated from a modified styrene-butadiene copolymer emulsion, designed as a high-performance waterproofing and bonding admixture. It can be blended with cement, sand-cement mortars, and concrete to enhance adhesion, strength, and durability.

The resulting mix provides exceptional bond strength to existing concrete, masonry, and reinforcing steel, ensuring long-lasting structural integrity. Concrate also improves weather resistance by reducing permeability, allowing for the application of thinner sections while enhancing flexural and tensile strength.

Additional benefits include:
Enhanced abrasion resistance for long-term durability
Superior freeze-thaw resistance for extreme weather conditions
Improved chemical resistance for industrial and commercial applications

Suitable for both internal and external applications, Concrate is the ideal solution for waterproofing, repairs, and structural reinforcement in various construction projects.

  • Concrete repairs
  • Floor toppings
  • Bonding of screeds and renders
  • Waterproofing of tanks and pools
  • Repair of large cracks
  • Waterproof plasters for masonry and slurries.
  • Universal bonding agent.
  • Easy to apply, easy miscibility and compatible with all common hydraulic cements.
  • Excellent water resistance – Provides waterproof screeds, plasters and permeability slurries.
  • Excellent Flexibility, good adhesion – Provides excellent bond to concrete, adhesion plaster, masonry, stone work, etc.,
  • Improved tensile and Flexural strength allow thin applications.
  • Safe, non-toxic, non-Flammable.

Instruction for use

All surfaces to be treated must be sound and free from dust, dirt, oil, grease and other contaminants. All surfaces should be thoroughly washed with clean water & allowed to dry.

  • Apply passivisation coat : 1 part cement and 1 part CONCRETE coat on cleaned reinforcement and allow it to dry for 2-3 hours.
  • CONCRETE is a ready to use bonding agent and is
simply applied dry brush on the surface.
  • CONCRETE can be used with cement in the ratio of 1:2 and can be mixed in gauging water of cement mortar for making the surface waterproof. Also, it increases the bonding ability of mortar.

Typical mechanical properties of 1 : 3 cement sand mortar at W/C – 0.45 for control and W/C – 0.35 for mortar containing CONCRETE ( 5 litre / 50 kg cement )

Water Vapor Permeability: Less than 4 gm/m²/24 hrs. Chemical Resistance: Resists mild acids, alkalis, sulphates, chlorides, urine, dung, Lactic acid, sugar, etc. ; Shrinkage During Cure: 0.01% to 0.02%.

  • Prepare surfaces thoroughly. Toe-in at edges wherever possible to avoid feather edging.
  • All surfaces including edges must be primed.
  • All applications should be wet on wet, the primer must not be allowed to dry.
  • The level of added water in the mix designs may need adjustment to achieve the required consistency. In general water content should be kept to the minimum necessary.
  • For consistent performance the use of clean, dry sand is recommended. Where wet sand is used, reduce the addition of water as appropriate.

Tools should be cleaned immediately after use with clean water.

CONCRETE is supplied in 200 ml. 1, 5, 10, 50 & 100 liter containers

  • Concrete repairs :  CONCRETE should be use 200 ml / 50 kg. of cement.
  • Bonding agent : CONCRETE has coverage of approx 6 – 8 m2 / litre depending on surface condition.

The shelf life of concrete is 12 months from the date of manufacture when kept at a temperature between 5°C and 45°C and stored in the original, unopened bags. All materials must be stored covered in a manner that prevents damage (preferably on pallets) and protected from excessive heat and moisture. Do not allow to freeze.

DERIN CHEMICALS & PAINTS is a firm of Assessed Capability. The company’s quality system conforms to ISO 9001:2008.

Health & Safety: CONCRETE should not come into contact with skin, eyes or be swallowed. Protective glasses should be worn during mixing and application. Should CONCRETE come into contact with skin, remove before hardening by washing with soap and water. Should accidental eye contact occur wash with plenty of water and seek medical advice. If swallowed seek medical advice immediately. Do not induce vomiting. For full health and safety data refer to Product Safety Data Sheet.
