DerinPlast NP – High-Performance Waterproofing

DERINPLAST NP is a ligno sulphonate-based normal plasticizer and water reducer, conforming to IS: 9103-1999 and ASTM C 494 Type A standards. Designed to enhance the workability and strength of concrete, it ensures improved durability and reduced water permeability.

Additionally, DerinPlast NP is a polymer-modified waterproofing compound, specifically engineered to withstand harsh weather conditions and moisture-prone environments. Its superior bonding and elasticity make it an ideal solution for bathrooms, balconies, swimming pools, and underground structures.

Key Features:

  • High elasticity to accommodate structural movements and prevent cracks
  • Exceptional resistance to water, chemicals, and UV exposure
  • Strong adhesion to concrete, brick, and metal surfaces
  • Suitable for both interior and exterior waterproofing applications

With DerinPlast NP, you get enhanced concrete performance along with long-lasting waterproofing protection, making it the perfect choice for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.

Derinplast NP is recommended for use in slabs, foundations, columns, beams, roofs and pavements.

DERINPLAST NP is a low cost water reduce, which can be used to get one or combination of benefits:

  • As a water reducer: (for increased strength) Reduction in the water cement ratio to maintain designed workability, increased strength. The concrete is also denser with lower permeability.
  • As a workability aid: Increased workability can be achieved by using DERINPLAST NP for a given water cement ratio which will increase the low characteristics of the concrete leading to easy placement, compaction and Finishing.
  • Reduction of cement content: DERINPLAST NP can be used to reduce cement content to the extent of 8 to 10% by maintaining the original strength specified and workability and reducing the water content required for the given mix.

Instruction for use

DERINPLAST NP complies with IS : 9103 – 1999 and ASTM C494 Type A.

DERINPLAST NP is added to part of the mixing water prior  to its addition to wet aggregate cement mix. 0.3 to 0.5% by weight of cement. It is advisable to carry out trial mixes to establish the exact dosage rate required. It is compatible with all types of Portland & PPC cement.

  • Prepare surfaces thoroughly. Toe-in at edges wherever possible to avoid feather edging.
  • All surfaces including edges must be primed.
  • All applications should be wet on wet, the primer must not be allowed to dry.
  • The level of added water in the mix designs may need adjustment to achieve the required consistency. In general water content should be kept to the minimum necessary.
  • For consistent performance the use of clean, dry sand is recommended. Where wet sand is used, reduce the addition of water as appropriate.

150 ml to 250 ml / 50 kg of cement.

DERINPLAST NP is supplied in 1, 5, 10, 50, 100 and 200 liter drums.

  • Concrete repairs :  CONCRETE should be use 200 ml / 50 kg. of cement.
  • Bonding agent : CONCRETE has coverage of approx 6 – 8 m2 / litre depending on surface condition.

The shelf life of DERINPLAST NP is 12 months from the date of manufacture when kept at a temperature between 5°C and 45°C and stored in the original, unopened bags. All materials must be stored covered in a manner that prevents damage (preferably on pallets) and protected from excessive heat and moisture. Do not allow to freeze.

DERIN CHEMICALS & PAINTS is a firm of Assessed Capability. The company’s quality system conforms to ISO 9001:2008.

Health & Safety: DERINPLAST NP should not come into contact with skin, eyes or be swallowed. Protective glasses should be worn during mixing and application. Should CONCRETE come into contact with skin, remove before hardening by washing with soap and water. Should accidental eye contact occur wash with plenty of water and seek medical advice. If swallowed seek medical advice immediately. Do not induce vomiting. For full health and safety data refer to Product Safety Data Sheet.
