New Tile Adhesive is a high-quality grey cement-based powder, enriched with polymers and special additives for superior bonding performance. Designed for concrete, plaster, and tile substrates, it is ideal for fixing ceramic and vitrified wall and floor tiles, quarry tiles, and similar materials.
With exceptional adhesion, it ensures a strong, durable bond on cement-sand surfaces, in-situ/pre-cast concrete, aerated concrete, and brickwork. Whether for residential or commercial tiling applications, New Tile Adhesive provides long-lasting strength and reliability.
All surfaces must be sound and thoroughly clean before NEW TILE ADHESIVE is applied. All traces of grease or oil must be removed with a chemical degreaser. All loose particles of mortar, old wallpaper, paint etc. must be physically removed.Tiles must be dry, and their surfaces free of contaminants that could impair adhesion. Do not soak tiles in water before lying.
NEW TILE ADHESIVE should be mixed with clean potable water in the ratio 3 : 1 by weight (3 part powder : 1 part water). Mix with a suitable stirrer or mixer mounted on slow speed electric drill machine until a lumps free consistency is achieved. The total quantity of water may be slightly adjusted to achieve the required consistency.
Spread the mortar onto the keyed-in substrate with the flat side of the trowel; then apply excess mortar to a depth that can be scraped off with a suitable trowel, leaving just enough mortar to make 100% contact with the back of the tile and then form a 3mm to 4mm mortar bed. Apply only enough mortar to cover the tiles in the open time. Check the open time by touching the adhesive bed with the tip of your finger.
It is recommended that when fixing ceramic tiles, a minimum spacing of 2mm be left around each tile.
Remove excess adhesive with a damp cloth before material has set. Joint grouting with NEW TILE ADHESIVE may be commenced 24 hours after tiles have been laid.
NEW TILE ADHESIVE should be removed from tools, equipment and mixers with clean water immediately after use. Cured material can only be removed mechanically.
New tile adhesive has a shelf life of 12 months from the date of manufacture when kept at a temperature between 5°C and 45°C and stored in the original, unopened bag. All material should be stored under cover in a manner that prevents damage (preferably on pallets) and protected from excessive heat and moisture. Do not allow to freeze.
